Part B - Blue Cross Medicare Advantage

I submitted two final Part B claims to Blue Cross Medicare Advantage. The Patient is InPatient, so the discharge status is '30-still a Patient' because they remained in a Certified bed.

Blue Cross Medicare Advantage has denied the claim because of an 'incorrect discharge status' ... ???

Has anyone else come across this issue ? Any suggestions ?

They say they 'follow Medicare guidelines' but they don't because I've received a lot of incorrect denials. I even send them documentation that shows we are following 'Medicare guidelines' and they still deny.

I would appreciate any input you may have.

  • Do you have a Provider rep that you can contact? They should be able to assist you with this. If you are unsure who that might be, I would suggest calling the provider line back and keep asking for the supervisor until you are able to get an account manager to speak with.
